Dressage Camp Format

Our current Dressage camps run on this format or similar - please contact us for full details:

Day 1 - Arrival. Arrive late afternoon and settle your horse into the onsite stabling. You can do an early evening arena walk to familiarise your horse with the arena, then join other campers for dinner to get to know each other.

Day 2 - Private Lessons and Workshops. Your own 45 minute private lesson, with a separate arena available for your warm-up and cool-down so you don't waste any precious lesson time. Plus you can watch other campers lessons to gain extra training tips. Also on this day are unmounted workshops to help with your riding, subjects may include position work to competition confidence and other extras such as horse and human massage.

Day 3  - Private Lessons and Workshops. A half hour private lesson with Mat to go over what went well and not so well in the day before and to polish up your technique ready for the competition, plus ideas and stuff to work on at home. Unmounted workshops continue this day.

Day 4 - Competition. Take part in a British Dressage Affiliated Competition at the venue in the already familiar arena, with Mat's help in warm up and your fellow campers willing you to do well.

"Original Equestrian is the first camp I've ever done.
A big step with a tricky 5 year old. I absolutely haven't stopped smiling yet! An amazing supportive group all round with fabulous lessons from Mat and a brilliant schedule of extras set by Katie. All worth doing! Can't wait for next time."

- Jennie Oct 2018 Aintree Camp

"The whole camp was really well organised by Katie Amos and was a lot of fun from beginning to end. We had a fantastic bunch of people there who, by the end of the four days, became our friends. Great tour of the Racecourse, Sandra’s Confidence Clinic was brilliant and Matt’s lessons were inspirational – I learnt so much from them, resulting in my horse completing two great test and getting great scores since!!! Also it was lovely to socialise in the evenings – a really important part!!! Well done – it was truly brill – absolutely loved it!!!"

- Sharon June 2017 Aintree Camp

" I loved every minute of this camp, cant wait for the next one.  Mat didn’t make me feel any less important than the other riders who were at the higher levels, he is a top trainer."
